Caring for Your Pet’s Clippers- CLICK HERE!

Clipper care is easy and important because it helps to maintain the condition of the clippers. By keeping your clippers in great shape, they will last longer and will make sharper cuts. Here are a few simple tips for keeping your clippers in great shape:

- Lubricate your blades often. Lubricated blades keep their ability to clip better than non-lubricated blades. It is a good idea to oil the blades before, during and after a clipping. Oster Clipper Oil works great and keeps your blades lubricated while clipping for better cuts and helps to keep the motor in good working order.

- Keep your blades sharp. Sharpen your blades or replace them on a regular basis. Most clippers have blades that may be sharpened or replaced. If your clipper is taking longer to clip or not making clean clippings, you may need to get your blade sharpened.

- Take a break if your clippers get hot. If your clipper feels hot to the touch, turn the clipper off and allow it to cool. Your clipper may get overheated or may burn your horse if it becomes too hot. It is a good idea to turn the clipper off and allow it to cool down.

- Keep the cord out of the way. Make sure that the cord is not in the way and your pet can’t step on it. You or your pet could get injured if the cord is in the way, so it is important to make sure that the cord is not in the way while clipping.

- Check the cord and plug every time you use it. Make sure that the cord is not frayed and the plug is in good shape. If you notice that the cord is frayed or the plug is broken, do not plug in the clipper until it has been properly repaired.

- After clipping, clean your clipper. A good working clipper is a clean clipper. After using your clipper, clean the blades and other parts with a soft cloth. Make sure that the clipper is unplugged.

If you take good care of your clippers, they should last you for many years to come. For a great variety of clippers, blades and more, check out GregRobert for all your clipping needs.
